Tata Elxsi expands operations; to open two new centers

MUMBAI: Tata Elxsi Limited, the technology arm of the Tata Group, is setting up two new development centers in Coimbatore and Hyderabad; while further expanding its facility in Thiruvananthapuram to meet the scale-up requirements of the clients.

The new development centers will assist customers worldwide on product design and development and provide them with high quality and time-to-market solutions through a highly skilled and motivated workforce. These development centers will be an addition to the Tata Elxsi’s existing design centers in Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai.

Together these two state-of-the-art design centers with world-class facilities, satellite links, training and recreational facilities will accommodate over 700 engineers and designers. The facility in Thiruvananthapuram, which currently houses 582 engineers, has been expanded to accommodate another 1500 engineers.

“Hyderabad has over the years evolved as a vibrant IT destination and the development center here with its advanced facilities and full- fledged infrastructure along with the centers in Coimbatore and Thiruvananthapuram, the two emerging technology hotspots will complement the existing centers in India. Connectivity and human resource advantages including the availability of a huge talent pool, good engineering colleges and R&D institutions are critical for the growth and development of the technology industry and all three cities have these in the right measure,” said Tata Elxsi MD and CEO Madhukar Dev.

“We will continue to invest in our processes and design tools to make them even more efficient, and constantly seek newer ways of adding value to our customers’ business globally,” he added.
