Thackeray plans thriller with Saregama

MUMBAI: Producer Smita Thackeray, who is awaiting her next release Kaise Kahein, has another film in the pipeline. The film will be co-produced by Saregama Films and directed by Ananth Mahadevan.

Says Thackeray, “I believe in testing new genres. My first film, Haseena Maan Jayegi was an out and out comedy; Sandwich was also on similar lines. Whereas Kaise Kahein revolves around youth romance. And now I am moving on to a new genre altogether. My new film will be a thriller but I can’t divulge any information. We are on the scripting stage as of now.”

Mahadevan who is busy with Victoria 203’s release this month end confirms the news, “Yes, I will be directing Smitaji’s film. It’s a very different kind of a thriller and I can’t slot it in a category. It’s based on a true story of a family in Gujarat.”

Work on the script is on presently and the cast hasn’t been decided. “It will be an ensemble cast as it is a Gujarati business family,” adds Mahadevan.

Other than Victoria 203, Mahadevan is also awaiting the release of Agar and Anamika, which have been directed by him.
