MUMBAI: The copyright infringement case that was filed by Hollywood studio Twentieth Century Fox on B.R Films, has now been amicably resolved.

BR Films had approached Twentieth Century Fox for rights to make an Indianised version based on idea of the My Cousin Vinny. Discussions had taken place between the two parties, however, Twentieth Century Fox contended that no terms were agreed between them, whereas B.R Films contended to the contrary.

In April this year, Fox had filed a suit in Bombay High Court against B.R Film alleging copyright infringement of the screenplay and the film My Cousin Vinny and associating their film Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai with Vinny. Fox had sought damages worth $1.4 million and had an injunction against the release of Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai.

Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai stars Govinda, Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen.
