MUMBAI: Last heard, Amol Gupte of Taare Zameen Par fame was directing a film. However, news is that he is also acting in a film now. In Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey, Gupte with his long flowing hair and beard will play the main villain. According to sources, this film will have all the surprise packages that Omkara had.
Bharadwaj has his own stylist for his films, Dolly Ahluwalia, who resides in Chandigarh. The stylist is brought to Mumbai during the shoot of a film, like she did for Omkara and Kaminey.
According to a source, "Be prepared for a surprise package from Shahid Kapur. Everybody knows that Shahid has a double role, but no one knows that, like Saif Ali Khan in Omkara, Shahid’s chocolate boy look is going to be broken for good. One of his characters is very wicked and mean."
Bharadwaj has been so protective about the look of the film that not even a single still has been issued to the press. Said the source, "Vishal is keeping everything under tabs. He has not even distributed any publicity material under the forthcoming films section as he wants to start the publicity of the film with a bang. And the look of the characters is expected to create that. The film will release end May or early June."
Bharadwaj’s films have stood out because of their unique subject and characterization. Kaminey will certainly have that, and coupled with it, a cast comprising Shahid Kapur, Priyanka Chopra and Gupte.
