UK band RDB sing for Namstey London

PRESS RELEASE

Rhythm Dhol Bass (RDB), a popular band in the UK, will be signing a number on Himesh Reshammiya’s baton, in Vipul Shah’s Namstey London.

RDB, known for their Bhangra music, is a group of three brothers from Bradford – Kuly Singh, Manj Singh, and Surj Singh. This is for the first time they would be signing for a Hindi film. RDB are one of the biggest groups to come out of the UK.

This year alone they have sold over 100,000 copies of their albums and have a phenomenal ‘global’ fan base. Performing in virtually every UK city, they have also toured worldwide playing in countries such as the US, Singapore, Dubai, Europe and Australia.

Vipul Shah says, ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…“I needed RDB for one song because Namastey London is about cultural amalgamation between Indians and NRIs in the UK. British Asian music is a perfect example of this fusion. It’s hip, contemporary and has great rhythm.”

Also for the first time Shah brought together the unique combination of stalwart lyrist Javed Akhtar and current music sensation Himesh Reshmmiya to compose music of Namastey London, which is scheduled to release in February 2007.

The film stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Upen Patel, and Rishi Kapoor.
