Mumbai: Urmila Matondkar playing Simi Garewal’s role in Karzzzz is old news. But the interesting part is Urmila was not even sure whether she wanted to play a character in two age groups that she is nowhere even close to in real life.
It took Karzzzz director Satish Kaushik and T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar to brainwash Urmila into playing this role.
"It was a very interesting experience since Kamini’s character goes beyond being evil. Kamini as a character is at par with the male villain characters portrayed in Hindi cinema. Except that she does not have the crutches of the usual stereotypical villain with fancy get ups mouthing stereotypical dialogues. Kamini had none of that for support. I am very happy that I did the role and it has worked out fantastically in totality. Such a tempting role to play – the iconic temptress- I gave in to the temptation," says Urmila.
"She has made this character even more venomous, in fact we even thought of changing her name to Kameenee on the sets. Kamini is simply a gorgeous, charming, intelligent, sensuous woman who takes being negative to a whole new level," adds Kaushik.
Karzzzzz is slated to release on 17 October. It is distributed by Big Pictures and presented by T-Series.
