MUMBAI: UTV Movies channel will now be available on DIRECTV’s WorldDirect International programming service.
The channel has in its portfolio, films like Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Life in a Metro and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal amongst others. The films are available to US audiences for the first time through the WorldDirect programming platform.
UTV Movies will premiere Fashion in the US in April. The movie stars Priyanka Chopra and is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. An agreement between DIRECTV, Inc. and UTV Global Broadcasting enables DIRECTV to be the exclusive satellite provider of the UTV Movies.
Starting today, UTV Movies is available on DIRECTV’s HindiDirect I and HindiDirect II programming packages on channel 2012, which are part of the WorldDirect programming platform and are tailored toward Hindi speaking audiences within the United States. WorldDirect customers must first subscribe to DIRECTV BASIC ($9.99/mo) or any DIRECTV base programming package ($29.99/mo or above).
