MUMBAI: UTV Software Communications has made some top level management changes in its Indian motion picture company – UTV Motion Pictures.
UTV Motion Pictures EVP marketing, distribution and syndication Siddharth Roy Kapur has been elevated as CEO. Kapur will report to UTV Software Communications CEO Ronnie Screwvala.
On the other hand, BL Gautam will continue to head the company’s AIM listed entity – UMP as COO.
Additionally, UTV senior vice president motion pictures production Alpana Mishra has been elevated to UTV Motion Pictures COO production. Mishra will overlook film production and development for UTV Motion Pictures.
UTV Spotboy Motion Pictures creative and business head Vikas Bahl has been upped as COO of the company.
Mishra and Bahl will report to Kapur.
A separate film development and production arm will soon be set up, which will be funded by UTV Motion Pictures. This division will be headed by Ram Mirchandani and will exclusively produce films for UMP.
The marketing, distribution, syndication and international teams will continue to report in to Kapur.

UTV Motion Pictures opened 2008 with films like Jodhaa Akbar and Race. The 18-film slate includes films across genres and languages in Hindi and English, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telegu, French, German and other languages.
The films include Academy nominated director M. Night Shayamlan’s The Happening, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6, Shyam Benegal’s Mahadev, Aziz Mirza’s Kismat Konnection, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, Shoojit Sircar’s Shoebite starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dia Mirza and Sarika.
The company is currently also working on a slate of four animation films.
