Mumbai: UTV Motion Pictures is releasing four films in the last quarter of financial year 2008-09. UTV’s calendar year of 2008 ended with the release of Oye Lucky Lukcy Oye on 28 November. With no releases planned for December and January, UTV will now release four movies in a span of six weeks in February and March.
Dev D will release on 6 February, which was earlier slated to release on 9 January. The film stars Abhay Deol, Mahi and Kalki. It is directed by Anurag Kashyap.
On 20 February Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra-directed Dilli 6 staring Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor will release. This film was earlier slated for release on 13 February. Dhoondte Reh Jaoge will release on 6 March. It is directed by Umesh Shukla and stars Sonu Sood, Kunal Khemu, Paresh Rawal and Soha Ali Khan. This film was earlier slated for release in December 2008. Kissan, directed by Puneet Sira and starring Sohail Khan, Arbaz Khan and Jackie Shroff, will release on 20 March.
After these four releases, UTV is readying four more movies for release for the first quarter of financial year 2009-2010 from April to June. These include Kaminay directed by Vishal Bharadwaj and starring Shahid Kapur and Priyanka Chopra; Yahoo directed by Ken Ghosh starring Shahid Kapur; Johnny Mastana directed by Shoojit Sircar and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sarika, Jimmy Shergill and Dia Mirza; and Main Aur Mrs Khanna starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The final release dates of these films are yet to announced.
