MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures will be releasing Rang De Basanti in the UK and US markets in a couple of months.
The movie, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra stars Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, R Madhavan, Kunal Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Siddharth, Sharman Joshi, Alice Patten, Anupam Kher, Kiron Kher, Om Puri amongst others.
The original duration of the movie is 2.51 hours and UTV will be editing the duration to 2.12 hours in order to release it in the UK and US markets.
Rang De Basanti released in India on 26 January 2006.
“We are looking at a fresh international re-release and also a new home video release for Rang De Basanti in a couple of months,” says UTV Motion Pictures CEO Ronnie Screwvala.
Rang De Basanti had been nominated as the official Indian entry to the Oscars this year as well as the BAFTA awards. However it did not manage to win at either of the awards.
