UTV’s World Movies to air Cannes special

Mumbai: UTV’s World Movies will be airing footage and award-winning movies from Festival De Cannes on the special series Cannes Calling this May.

The Cannes Film Festival will begin on 14 May.

Cannes Calling will have the best moments from Cannes over the last 10 years with red carpet events, gala parties and interviews with the stars. The Late Show will have a selection of the best movies showcased at Cannes over the years.

Festival De Cannes 2008 will have a daily feed from the Cannes Film Festival 2008 comprising interviews with major stars and directors, coverage of the red carpet events, access to the gala parties and directors and actors whose films will be showcased at Cannes 2008.

UTV Entertainment Television Limited COO Dilshad Master said, "Cannes is a not-to-miss event. It is the world’s biggest and the most glamorous film festival but India gets to see only glimpses of it. As India’s only international movie channel, World Movies is proud to bring Indian viewers comprehensive coverage of this spectacular event for the very first time."

World Movies will air film showcased at Cannes at 11 pm. The line-up is as follows:

May 10 – Identification of a woman (Italian)- Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni; Genre: Drama
May 11 – Secrets and Lies (English) – Directed by Mike Leigh; Genre: Drama
May 16 – A Special Day (Italian) – Directed by Ettore Scola; Genre: Drama
May 17 – Taxi Blues (Russian) – Directed by Pavel Lungin; Genre: Drama
May 18 – 400 Blows (French) – Directed by François Truffaut; Genre: Drama
May 23 – Identification of a woman (Italian)- Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni; Genre: Drama
