Vikas Kapoor, Samir Karnik rope in Bobby Deol for two films

MUMBAI: After his latest flick Heroes, director Samir Karnik is upbeat about the two forthcoming movies that he will be directing. These are titled Formula No. 44 and Lanka. Both will be big budget movies and have an ensemble star cast.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Karnik says, "As of now I have cast Bobby Deol in both the movies. We are still in the process of developing the scripts. The others cast members will be decided soon."

The movies will be produced by Karnik along with Vikas Kapoor under the Future Picture Company banner. Heroes was also produced under the same banner.

Karnik informs that Formula No. 44 will go on floors in April – May next year. Plans are to target the movie’s release for Diwali 2009.

Formula No. 44 will be an action packed thriller and will have three – four big heroes and two heroines. The scripts of both the movies are being written by Karnik along with Hollywood writers.

However Karnik was loathe to talk about the storyline of Lanka. "Lanka will be a typical Hollywood type script and it is going to be a very big movie. That’s all I can reveal at this moment," he says.

Prior to this, Karnik has directed Nanhe Jaisalmer starring Bobby Deol and Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi. However, these weren’t money churners at the box office.
