Vikram Bhatt readies four films for 2007

MUMBAI: After lying considerably low in 2006, director Vikram Bhatt is looking forward to 2007 with four films under his belt.

The list starts with Red, which will release in January. Red is an erotic thriller and stars Aftab Shivdasani, Sushant Singh, Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitley. The music of the film will be released by November end and has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

This will be followed by Life Main Kabhi Kabhi on 2 February. “I am currently working on this film and it is 70 per cent complete. The film is about five friends who lay a bet on who will be the happiest of them after five years. All of them have different ideas about happiness,” informs Bhatt.

The film stars Aftab Shivdasani, Sameer Dattani, Anuj Sawhney, Raj Zutshi, Monish Behl, Koel Puri, Anjori Alag, Punky Hirani and Nikita Anand (Miss India). The film is produced by Baba Films and has music by Lalit Sen.

Bhatt’s Speed for Baweja Movies will also release around the same time. “I have ten 10 of shooting left for the film after which it should be ready for release,” he says. Speed stars Zayed Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Aashish Chaudhary, Aftab Shivdasani, Sanjay Suri, Sophie Chaudhary, Tanushree Dutta and Amrita Arora.

The director’s next will be with the Sippys. “The film is titled Fear and is ready for release but it got postponed due to other big releases,” says Bhatt. Fear, as the title suggests, is a super natural thriller about ghosts. The film has three fresh faces – Alisha, Swapnil and Anil Gaur.

“Fresh stories are best told with fresh faces,” Bhatt justifies. Fear in a Rs 30 million (Rs 3 crores) film by the Sippys and has music by Reshammiya.

When asked about the progress with the script he was writing for the Vinod Khanna and his sons – Rahul and Akshaye, he says, “It was a premature announcement that I made. However, I have neither shelved the idea nor have I begun serious work on it.”

Bhatt’s Ankahee starring Aftab Shivdasani, Esha Deol and Ameesh Patel released this year but didn’t fare well at the box office.
