The movie will be the debut directorial venture of Rajkumar Hirani’s long-time assistant – Rajesh Mapuskar.
There has been constant speculation of who would be the lead in Ferrari Ki Sawaari. Rumours were rife that Aamir Khan would be roped in for the project after 3 Idiots. This will be Chopra’s next production after 3 Idiots.
Joshi was last seen in Allah Ke Bandey and was also a part of the ensemble 3 Idiots’ cast along with Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani and Omi Vaidya.
Chopra syas, "We have seen the screen test of Sharman Joshi, and strongly feel that he has understood the character and he’s done a brilliant job in the screen test."
Ferrari Ki Sawaari will go on floors in February and is slated for release next year.
The music of the film will be by Pritam. Chopra and Mapuskar have co-written the script and Rajkumar Hirani will be working on the dialogues.
