MUMBAI: Looks like the stars are finally favouring Amitabh Bachchan. The actor and his family who are firm believers of astrology, often wear gems to boost their luck. But in the recent past, the Big B has been seen sans his famous dual sapphire stone ring which he used to wear on the middle finger of the right hand.
Ever since the Big B made his comeback via Indian television’s biggest show Kaun Banega Crorepati, the actor has been wearing the ring which has become his trademark style. Two sapphire stones on a platinum band have been worn by Bachchan for several years. But now the ring has been replaced by a single sapphire stone.
Amongst Indian astrologers it is believed that the sapphire stone is used to combat the evil eye of Saturn, which can have a devastating effect on career and money. It was believed that the senior Bachchan’s stars were not in a favourable position and so he needed a double sapphire ring to overcome it. Things were a bit shaky for the Shahenshah for a couple of years, but with time things resolved and the Bachchan belief on these gems started during this period as they were able to overcome several hardships.
However, now things are looking much brighter. AB Corp has been revived and is ready to release their first production. Bachchan has several properties in Mumbai and is financially very secure. His career is on a high as he experiments with several roles, be it as a 12 year old in Balki’s Paa or a genie in Sujoy Ghosh’s Alladin. And he is still experimenting on television where he will be playing the philosopher for Colors’ Bigg Boss. With so much going his way, now Bachchan does not need the aid of a dual sapphire ring to combat any evil forces.
