Whistling Woods gets Weisscam to India

MUMBAI: The Mukta Arts and Film City promoted Whistling Woods International school of film and allied arts demonstrated the new Weisscam for the first time in India on Wednesday.

The Weisscam camera offers the freedom to choose image formats and the frame rate as required to shoot commercial table tops, music clips, action sports, documentaries, scientific reports, say sources.

The various uses of the camera were detailed at a workshop on Wednesday at Whistling Woods by Mattihias Ruge, who is an expert in this filed. Leading Indian cinematographers including Kamlakar Rao, Jehangir Chawdhry as well as the students of Whistling Woods attended the workshop.

“Our idea is to provide the best facilities to our students to train them in the latest technology that is being used for film making today,” says Whistling Woods International chairman Subhash Ghai.

The digital high speed system weisscam HS1 has been developed by DoP Stefan Weiss and manufactured by P+S Technik, which is also exclusively responsible for the distribution of the product.

The Weisscam, says a release, offers a compact, flexible, mobile and reliable digital high speed system, which is proofed under various project requirements, allowing changes in the frame rate during recording for live ramping.
