Whistling Woods hosts Deakin University exchange students

Mumbai: Film institute Whistling Woods International (WWI) has said that eight students from the Australia-based Deakin University visited its campus for a four-day program.

During their visit to WWI, the students participated in lectures on the cultural context of "Bollywood", making a film on the Indian diaspora, narrative structures in Hindi Cinema, Bollywood distribution abroad and the business of Indian cinema.

The students also attended a workshop on cinematography and a classical North Indian performance organized by WWI music teacher D Wood. Well-known producer Rahul Aggarwal spoke to the students about his latest movie Red Alert. The students also attended other lectures conducted by the faculty and management of the school.

"The quality of the staff and the facilities at Whistling Woods International were among the best we’ve experienced. We enjoyed the fact that we were given the chance to talk to professionals who are currently working in the industry", said one of the students of Deakin University.

The students of Deakin University also enjoyed cinematography workshops and music performances.
