World Movies to air international hits on Friday Premieres

Mumbai: UTV Network’s World Movies will be airing a new international box-office hit every Friday at 8:30 pm on Friday Premieres. Beunos Aires 1977 a.k.a Crónica de una fuga, a Spanish thriller directed by Adrián Caetano, was premiered on 25 July under Friday Premieres.

Beunos Aires 1977 was a Cannes nominee for Golden Palm (2006) and Argentina’s entry for 2007 Golden Globes Awards for the category of Best Foreign Language Film. The movie has bagged 11 awards and eight other nominations.

UTV Entertainment Television COO Dilshad Master says, "With the new offering, Friday Premieres, a viewer can enjoy the premiere of an international box-office hit sitting at home. We constantly update our movie library with new titles, movies that have done rounds at international festival with the hope of bringing best of international cinema to our viewers first."
Coming soon on Friday Premieres will be two movies by Luc Besson—Leon starring Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman; and the Oscar-nominated The Fifth Element a.k.a Le Cinquième Élément starring Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Milla Jovovich. World Movies will also screen Iberia directed by Carlos Saura.
