MUMBAI: Yash Raj Films (YRF) is looking at targeting the youth and has set up a special division that will focus on youth-centric films.
YRF has appointed Viacom 18 senior vice president – new ventures and general manager – youth movies Ashish Patil as business & creative head to head this division.
Patil, who was heading MTV at Viacom 18 will report to YRF vice chairman Aditya Chopra.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Patil said, “I will be joining Yash Raj Films on 1 April. YRF is like a university in filmmaking and I was always passionate about making films. I have interacted with the YRF team when we worked together on some projects at MTV. The timing was just right to marry my experience at MTV with my passion for films."
