Yash Raj Films signs JV with Dubai Infinity Holdings

Mumbai: Filmmaking studio Yash Raj Films (YRF) has entered into an agreement with Dubai Infinity Holdings to build a large scale entertainment district dedicated to the film brand.

The partnership was signed by Yash Raj Films chairman Yash Chopra and Dubai Infinity Holdings CEO Samira Abdulrazzak. The latter is an investments enterprise of Dubai.

The Yash Raj Films Entertainment District will comprise theme park attractions, a movie palace, hotels and other unique Indian genre entertainment concepts. All the components of the YRF District will be themed around the YRF banner.

"UAE has a huge fan following of our Indian films and are watched and cherished not only by the South East Asian Diaspora but also by the local population. Dubai Infinity Holdings is a dynamic investment company and what really counts is that we share a similar vision," said Chopra.

He added, "The first phase of the YRF Entertainment District is scheduled to be completed by 2012."

Abdulrazzak said, "Bringing such a prestigious name into the UAE has been a strategic move as it attracts the core demographic of the country. This will be a one of a kind partnership in the UAE, which we are very proud to be associated with."
