MUMBAI: After partnering with the likes of TinselVision and WatchIndia to stream movies online on a pay-per-view basis, Yash Raj Films has now also partnered with Internet service provider VSNL (now Tata Communications Ltd) for the same.
Yash Raj Films’ select bouquet of movies will be streamed to the viewer’s computer through VSNL’s broadband portal www.tataindicombroadband.in in a pay-per-view format.
In keeping with the YRF ethos of making film and film related content as widely and easily available as possible to consumers across the world, more and more content will continue to be made available digitally.
On the WatchIndia portal movies like Kabhi Kabhie, Kaala Patthar, Chandni, Hum Tum, Dhoom, Veer-Zaara, Bunty aur Babli and Dhoom:2, among others will be made available. On TinselVision movies like Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, Silsila, Saathiya, Salaam Namaste and Fanaa, among others will be available.
As a strategy, the new releases will be available on these platforms after a window period of three months post theatrical release. For a pay-per-view the price will range from $4.99 (for the classics) to $7.99 (for the most recent releases).
