MUMBAI: The World Wide Web is gaining more and more prominence amongst producers these days to market their films in order to reach a wider audience base. Now producer Sajid Nadiadwala has taken to the web to promote his forthcoming movie Heyy Babyy. Friday, 29 June saw a promo of the film uploaded on Eros Entertainment’s channel on YouTube.com and in a span of four days, the video has garnered close to 10,000 hits.
Heyy Babyy made an impact in the digital space with the promos simultaneous release in cyberspace along with its theatrical release. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Vidya Balan and is due for release this August. It is directed by debutant Sajid Khan.
Says Nadiadwala, “Yes, I did get a call from my overseas distributor who informed me about the excellent buzz the promos have generated on YouTube.com and overseas. It’s just overwhelming.”
Apart from a song featuring New Zealand based Girl Band, 21 Bollywood actresses will be performing in a song and a special song to be shot with Shah Rukh Khan is being touted as another high point of the film.
Director Sajid Khan says, “I have made the film putting myself in the audience shoes. I have tried to slip into the skin of the audience. I want to entertain them. In fact the characters of Akshay, Fardeen and Riteish reflect different aspects of my personality.”
