MUMBAI: Javed Zaidi, the self-professed encyclopedia on the Hindi film industry, is coming out with a directory, ‘Bollywood Films Collection 1931 – 2006.’
Zaidi, the walking-talking directory on the Hindi film world, is currently the All India distribution head for music channel Jhankar TV.
Says Zaidi, “Bollywood Films Collection 1931 – 2006 will contain all details of the Hindi film industry. More than 9000 movies from 1931 to 2006 will be listed with all their details. Even all the Bollywood awards will be listed. Other than that, there will be special write-ups on other film industries like Bhojpuri, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and even Hollywood. The book has been compiled, keeping the film industry’s requirement in mind.”
Zaidi, who is also the publisher of the tome, adds, “I am releasing the book in February after Moharrum. I shall launch a website in March or April 2007, which will provide requisite information on Bollywood.”
Zaidi has previously headed the programming and movie division of cable TV channel CVO for nine years.
