MUMBAI: Zapak.com and Cartoon Network have joined hands to offer an exclusive section of the best of Cartoon Network online games on Zapak.com. These games can be accessed at http://www.CartoonNetwork.zapak.com. The website will soon have over 40 Cartoon Network action-adventure packed online games.
As per the latest I-cube 2007 data, kids in India spend 21 per cent of their time on the internet for entertainment which is up from 18 per cent in 2006. Activities such as online gaming, video etc. has increased share of entertainment from 8 per cent in 2006 to 13 per cent in 2007.
According to Turner International India vice president of distribution and business operations (India and South Asia) Siddharth Jain, "As per the latest New Generations 2007 (Cartoon Network’s pioneering and patented kids’ lifestyle survey) gaming has emerged as the # 1 internet activity for kids with 45 per cent votes."
He says the internet user base in India has grown by 40 per cent to reach 46 million, with youth driving internet usage and school going kids constituting approx. 14 per cent of users.
