Mumbai: It was a star-studded evening at the Zee Cine Awards held in London recently. The night’s big winners included Kareena Kapoor for Best Actress for the film Jab We Met, while Shah Rukh Khan won Best Actor for Chak De! India. Aditya Chopra’s Chak De! was also awarded Best Film Award and Aamir Khan was named the Best Director for Taare Zameen Par.
Govinda received the Best Supporting Actor Award for Partner, while Best Debut awards went to Ranbir Kapoor (Saawariyan) and Deepika Padukone (Om Shanti Om).
Best actor in a comic role went to Vinay Pathak (Bheja Fry), Best music director to A R Rehman (Guru), Best lyrics to Prasoon Joshi (Taare Zameen Par) and best playback singers went to Shaan (Saawariyan) and Shreya Ghoshal (Guru).
The four and a half hour show also included dozens of awards and celebrity song and dance acts by Shah Rukh Khan, Upen Patel, Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Jay Sean and Katrina Kaif.
Lifetime achievement awards were given to Zeenat Aman and Feroz Khan.
