MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Network has acquired the worldwide distribution rights of Ammtoje Mann’s Kaafila which tells the story of illegal immigrants and stars Sunny Deol in the lead.
Jayantilal Gada, who handles film acquisitions for Zee, confirmed the development, but refused to divulge details.
Ammtoje Mann, who had earlier made Hawayein in 2003 says, “We have sold the worldwide rights of the film to Zee for distribution and exploitation for a particular period of time. We have not given away the negative rights of the film.”
Kaafila has been shot in various countries, including the US, the UK, Afghanistan, Russia , Ukraine and Mumbai. Made under the banner of Mannerism Films (P) Ltd, the film also stars Pakistani actors Sana Nawaz and Mona Lisa. Sudesh Berry, Sameep Kang and Ammtojee Mann also feature in the cast.
