Zeenat Aman back in the limelight


MUMBAI: Yesteryears actress Zeenat Aman is back with a bang. After starring in Kaizad Gustad’s Boom (2003) with Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, she has had a series of films lined up in her kitty.


 


What’s more a couple of her films – Don and Qurbani – are also being re-made and are slated to release soon with the new brigade of actresses who will essay her character.


 


Zeenat’s movie Jaana – Let’s Fall in Love is due for release in October, which also stars Rajesh Khanna; whereas Sirf Romance- Love by Chance will go on floors by September end in Malaysia and also stars Raj Babbar.


 


In both the above mentioned films she plays the roles of a mother. “In Sirf Romance… I play a mother’s role and in Janaa… I play mother to an adopted son.”


 


When queried as to whether she is comfortable playing the role of a mother, she says, “I am a mother and I love being a mother, so what is wrong in playing the role.”


 


“My kids have now grown up and I am free to work. Earlier my family responsibilities didn’t allow me the leisure of working.”


 


The remake of her 1978 film Don is due for release on 20 October. During that time she will be in Malaysia shooting for Sirf Romance… She says, “I am looking forwards to watch Don. I am sure Farhan must have done a good job with its remake. He is a young and promising director.”


 


“I am very happy that people still remember my films that were made in 70s and 80s and so many of my films are being remade,” she wraps up contentedly.
