Zeenat Aman shoots with Helen

MUMBAI: Two of the most glamorous heroines of the Indian film industry have been cast together for an English film. The film, which is being currently shot out of Mumbai features Zeenat Aman and Helen.

Aman spoke just before she was boarding the flight, “I last shot with Helen for a film called Ram Balram where I played her daughter. We shot for a schedule in Goa and it was so fun. The cast is an ensemble cast of me, Helen, Kabir Bedi and Parikshit Sahni, and the film, Dunno Why or Na Jaane Kyon is about a Catholic family living in Mumbai.”

Helen also quipped, “In Ram Balram Zeenat played my daughter and in this film, she plays my daughter in law. I was so looking forward to reconnecting with her and reliving the old memories.”

The film is being directed by Sanjay Sharma, brother of film maker Anil Sharma, who has films like Gaddar and Hero to his name. But for Sanjay, the mainstream cinema was not so exciting as an offbeat subject made in the English language. The film has only two schedules, revealed Aman and after this long schedule, will wrap by the end of the month.

For Aman, it has been some time since she shot for a film. However the heartthrob of millions in the 80’s smiled and said, “Some things you can never forget and for me acting is my life line. It has given me everything. Putting on the grease paint, waiting for the director’s cue, slipping into another character, this is what I have done for so many years and I am happiest doing films.”

The raw sensuality of the two heroines, Helen and Aman may not be present in this film, but the histrionics of a good actor most certainly will.
