MUMBAI: Since Dr. Ashok Chopra succumbed to cancer on Monday, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s world has literally fallen apart. Daddy’s little girl, Priyanka understandably is broken and shaken up immensely by her father’s demise.
Dr. Chopra, a retired colonel in the Indian Army, was hospitalised at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital two weeks ago. Since then, Priyanka stood firmly by his side, cancelling all her professional commitments.
Dr. Chopra, who passed away on Monday afternoon, is survived by his daughter Priyanka, wife Madhu and son Sidharth.
A prayer meeting was held after his funeral, at J.W. Marriott hotel in Juhu yesterday. Many of Bollywood’s best-known faces showed up, to lend support to Priyanka and her family in her hour of need.
Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Rakesh Roshan, Shilpa Shetty, Zoya Akhtar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Rohan Sippy, Kunal Kohli, Prabhu Deva aner Parineeti Chopra were seen entering the venue to attend the prayer meet.
Also spotted were Lara Dutta, Rohit Shetty, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Rani Mukherjee and Ileana D’Cruz.
