MUMBAI: Looks like Deepika Padukone won’t be the only Bollywood actress making her debut on the IIFA stage this year. Madhuri Dixit-Nene, who has been part of Bollywood for more than two decades, will also be debuting on the IIFA stage for this year’s function.
Sridevi and Prabhu Deva too are set to perform together on the IIFA stage. Reports say that they will participate in a one-of-a-kind dance-off.
Also we hear that Abhishek Bachchan will return to the IIFA stage. Jr. Bachchan has performed on the IIFA stage before giving his first international performance in IIFA 2005 in Amsterdam.
As the 14th edition of the IIFA Awards coincides with 100 years of Indian cinema, Madhuri Dixit-Nene will be performing to her most famous numbers as she recreates the magic of cinema of the years past. She might dance to songs like ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Kay Sera Sera’ (on which she coincidentally danced with Prabhu Deva), ‘Maar Dala’ and her recent hit ‘Ghagra’.
Madhuri Dixit-Nene is visibly upbeat about this performance. “I have never been to an IIFA before and I’m very excited to be making my eprformance debut on the IIFA stage,” she said. This performance will not be the only spectacle on the IIFA stage though.
As reported yesterday, Deepika Padukone too will be dancing to her recent hits like ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’, ‘Angrezi Beat’ and ‘Balam Pichkari’.
The stars expected at the IIFA Awards this year are Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Huma Qureishi, Parineeti Chopra, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, among others.
The 2013 IIFA Awards, the 14th edition, takes place at Macau on 6 July, 2013.
