2012 Brawl Case: After Last Warning Saif Ali Khan Appears In Court Today

Saif-PoliceBollywood actor Saif Ali Khan who was given last warning to be present at the court for 2012 assault case has finally appeared to the court today on June 18, 2015.

Earlier the actor couldn’t be present in the court due to his shooting schedules and was given a last warning to be present in the court on June 18. The court had warned that a warrant would be issued if the actor failed to be present at the next hearing.

Saif Ali Khan’s lawyer Girish Kulkarni who issued the statement said, “It is a compoundable aspect under section 325, mediation is permissible with the permission of the court. That is why the court suggested it. Saif is ready, the Public Prosecutor has suggested the same to Iqbal”

The next hearing would take place on July 27, 2015.

The case was registered against Saif when he was dining out with lady love Kareena Kapoor in 2012 at Wasabi at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel in Mumbai. Saif Ali Khan thwacked an NRI businessman, Iqbal Sharma, also dining at the same restaurant.

A verbal and allegedly physical altercation ensued over a simple matter of the businessman asking Saif and company to keep their voices down. Things turned ugly with the businessman getting a bloody nose and reporting the matter to the Colaba police station.

Earlier this year, government contemplated to snatch away the prestigious Padma Shri Award from actor Saif Ali Khan that was awarded to him on April 7, 2010.The Union Ministry had asked the Mumbai police to quickly wind up the case process of him, which was registered against him over this incident.

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan has many movies this year, one of the most talked films is Rangoon in which the actor would be sharing the screen space for the first time with Kareena Kapoor Khan’s ex-flame Shahid Kapoor and the fsilm will be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
