MUMBAI: In this day and age of instant information dissemination, Bollywood has seemed to reap the benefits of a wider audience base. The information they send out, gets transmitted that much quicker and to that many more people. And now, Bollywood’s taken to launching every aspect of the film separately, to ensure more audience interest. Not content with just a simple music release, filmmakers are cashing in on the widespread interest in Bollywood, and are throwing separate parties for music launch, trailer launch, first look launch etc.

This is just what happened at the trailer launch of the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Himmatwala’. The team wanted to release the trailer in a grand manner, and so they had a big press con to launch the trailer of the remake of the 1980’s cult classic ‘Himmatwala’. The original had of course starred ‘Jumping Jack’ Jeetendra and Sridevi, and was a super duper hit.

This version is ‘Himmatwala’ with a twist: for it stars Ajay Devgn essaying the role of Jeetendra in the remake. And opposite him is not a Bollywood superstar or an established actress, but a relative newbie to B’town: Tamannah Bhatia. Tamannah though has had a successful run down south, and is Bollywood’s latest import.

The trailer launch saw Ajay and Tamannah getting along like a house on fire. Also present was director Sajid Khan, producer Vashu Bhagnani and Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV. The theme of the launch seemed to be retro, with quite a few village-esque matkas on display, and Ajay Devgn’s throwback style: mustachioed and 80’s style shirt and trousers. The entire team had a whale of a time launching the exclusive trailer and was seen interacting with the media persons present.
