MUMBAI: The ‘Student of The Year’ stunner Alia Bhatt sure seems to be going places. If recent buzz is to be believed, the petite young actress may have just signed a blockbuster project, opposite Ranbir Kapoor no less!

As we had earlier reported, Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu’s first co-production under their newly formed banner Picture Shuru Productions is to be the detective thriller ‘Jagga Jasoos’ (READ FULL STORY).

The two are gearing up to go on the floors, and rumours suggest that Alia Bhatt has landed the female lead role opposite the much-in-demand young superstar Ranbir.

The dynamics of the film would indeed be interesting: Ranbir, having just delivered his career’s biggest hit ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ starring in an Anurag Basu film (whose last venture was the sweet success ‘Barfi!’). Add to this mix would be Alia, fresh and fabulous off her ‘SOTY’ high.

Revealed a source, “Anurag is busy with the script of the film and he is leaving no stone unturned to perfect the draft. In the middle of all this, he has met Alia and spoke to her about the film. The makers feel that she will be just apt for the role.”

It is not confirmed if Alia has signed on the dotted line, but a source close to her indicated that she is very tempted by the offer. “Alia doesn’t want to let go off this opportunity. After all, Anurag is one of the highest paid and most sought after directors today,” said the source.

Meanwhile, Alia has several big films in her kitty, including Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’, which has almost wrapped up shooting, and Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar’s ‘2 States’.

It would definitely be a treat to watch the beautiful young actress star opposite Young Bollywood’s biggest superstar, in Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’.
