MACAU: Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra have both seemed to have gotten a dream start in Bollywood. While the actor gave a commendable performance in ‘Vicky Donor’, for which he also bagged Best Debut Actor at the IIFA Awards and then was seen in ‘Nautanki Saala!’, Parineeti Chopra debuted in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ and followed it up with a fiery performance in ‘Ishaqzaade’ last year.

The going has been smooth for both of them after that too. While Parineeti Chopra will be continuing in the Yashraj household with her ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ director Maneesh Sharma’s ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, Ayushmann Khurrana too enters the Yashraj fold with a role in ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’ director Nupur Asthana’s next.

But these two actors have had everyone’s head turning with their performance at the 14th edition of the IIFA awards at Macau. They performed to slow numbers and looked in sync with each other throughout the performance. While Parineeti Chopra wore a pink dress, Ayushmann Khurrana wore a black suit and a pink tie to go with Parineeti’s outfit. They made quite an interesting couple onstage.

But will we see them together onscreen? While Parineeti Chopra will be seen with Ranveer Singh, Siddharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur next, Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen opposite Sonam Kapoor in Nupur Asthana’s next. Ayushmann and Parineeti is a pair waiting to happen.

The younger Chopra sibling has shown that she can perform in chirpy and cute roles and can be the angry young woman too. Ayushmann on the other hand has always acted in roles that portray him as the boy-next-door, but we’re sure he can step out of that mould, if the need arises. How about casting them in a modern-day rom-com set in the city of Mumbai?

Against the backdrop of the trains and Marine Drive, we see a good romantic-comedy with these two up-and-coming actors in the lead. Let’s hope some director spots the potential in this pair and signs them up, be it for a rom-com, or something as unexpected as a suspense thriller.
