MUMBAI: Bollywood stole the show, quite literally, at the recently concluded ‘Golden Petal’ Awards. The awards show, which is primarily a TV awards show, now seemed like a Bollywood event with most of B’town’s celebrities turning up and performing at the event.
Of course, television and cinema are now so tightly wound together, that it is pointless to discriminate and distinguish one from the other. Major film stars are foraying into television, and our very own TV actors are making big screen debuts, so the lines have blurred considerably.
This time around, we spotted a bevy of Bollywood’s biggest names on the red carpet for ‘Golden Petal’ Awards. Anil “jhakaas” Kapoor was there, clad in a natty black suit and a goatee which made him look even younger and hotter.
Salman Khan looked uber dashing in a casual light grey suit, and that adorable new crew cut which suits him to a T. Malaika Arora Khan sizzled in a white, off shoulder ball gown and “dhak dhak” girl Madhuri Dixit Nene also chose a western formal gown.
We also spotted Isha Sharvani in a very daring, bold, backless gown; she sure seems to be angling for a second innings in Bollywood post her stunning, breathtaking stint on reality TV dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’. Farah Khan and Kirron Kher also came along, the former in a short dress and the latter in her trademark nine yards sari.
It was an unforgettable night, with TV and film stars taking to the stage to perform for their loyal audiences. TV stars like Deepshikha, Karan Wahi, Avika Gor, and many others were present.
