Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer Naam Shabana first Monday business at the Box Office.
Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Naam Shabana is doing best at the Box Office. The film has been well received by the audience as well as by the critics and is currently enjoying its decent run at the Box Office since day 1. However, the film has witnessed its first drop on Monday.
Naam Shabana collected around Rs 4.75 crore (47.5 million) nett on its first day. The film then showed a good pick in its first weekend. Shivam Nair’s Naam Shabana collected Rs 6 crore (60 million) nett approx on Saturday and witnessed a rise in the collection on Sunday. The film collected Rs 7 crore (70 million) nett approx on Sunday.
However, Naam Shabana dropped on Monday and has grossed Rs 2.25 crore (22.5 million) nett. The mid-budget film has witnessed a drop of around 55% than Friday. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 20 crore approx. The occupancy rate of the film is getting low and seems to be taking off the trend of Anushka Sharma’s last week release, “Phillauri”, which vanished after its one week run.
Naam Shabana is expected to earn around Rs 25-26 crore nett in its first week, which will actually make it the fifth highest grossing Hindi film of 2017. The film is doing its best business in Mumbai and has collected around Rs. 6.50 crore (65 million) nett in the circuit over four days.
The film is a spin-off to Taapsee’s character from the 2015 film Baby. The story is all about how Taapsee along with Jay Singh Rajput played by Akshay Kumar gets into a mission and how she became a part of the Baby. It tells the story of their agent Shabana Khan and her journey before Baby. The film had received immense buzz over its hard-hitting trailer and moreover, Taapsee’s role had already connected the audience and wanted to watch more of it.
