MUMBAI: Bollywood’s latest action-comedy flick – Eros International’s ‘Khiladi 786’, starring Akshay Kumar, Asin Thottumkal, Mithun Chakraborty, Raj Babbar, Manoj Joshi and Himesh Reshammiya, has taken an average opening at the box office.
The film directed by Ashish Mohan, released on 7 December. On its first day, friday, ‘Khiladi 786’ made a collection of Rs 98 million (Rs 9.80 crore) net approximately.
Saturday saw a mild pick up, with a good upsurge on Sunday. The three day total of the film is in the range of Rs 324 million (Rs 32.40 crore) net.
The main business has come from mass circuits like Central India, Rajasthan and Bihar. However Northern Indian circuit has been extremely dull.
The poor reviews do not offer much hope, and considering the progress so far, the first week is likely to follow an average trend.
