The 70th edition of the Festival De Cannes (Cannes Film Festival) will see many international and Bollywood celebrities making their way to the red carpet. The event, which kick starts today from May 17, will witness stars walking the red carpet, making it an epic gala. The celebrities have already geared up to steal the thunder as they walk the red carpet in their impeccable appearances. From who will put the best fashion foot forward to the line up of the films that will be screened this year, there is a lot in the store. Indian Films to be screened: Afternoon Clouds directed by Payal Kapadia, a third-year film direction course student of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), had her 13-minute short film selected to compete against 16 other films in ‘The Cinéfondation Selection’.
That’s not all, there is going to be a lot for the movie buffs from the Indian Cinema. The trailer of Priyanka Chopra’s Sikkimese production Pahuna will be screened at the festival.
The trailer of Indian chef Vikas Khanna’s Buried Seeds will be screened at Cannes this year.
Rima Das’ Village Rockstars, an entirely “self-made” film has been selected for Cannes Film Festival.
Indian celebrities to walk the red carpet: Cannes regulars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor will walk the red carpet this year again in their stunning appearances.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone is all set for her Cannes carnival debut. The Padmavati actress will be walking the red carpet on 17 and 18 May as a part of L’Oreal Paris brand ambassador.
A R Rahman To Walk The Red Carpet: Oscar Winning music composer A R Rahman will walk the red carpet at Cannes 2017 on May 18. It would be a proud moment when Rahman will be walking the red carpet with the lead cast, director and producers of trilingual magnum opus Sangamithra.
Shruti Haasan will also be making to Cannes. The actress will be making her debut at the film festival with Sangamithra.
Aishwarya-SRK’s Devdas At Cannes Again: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who made her debut at Cannes Film Festival with Devdas back in 2002, will be presenting the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film again at the upcoming 70th edition of the fest. The actress will be presenting the film as L’Oreal Paris brand ambassador on 20 May as part of the L’Oréal Paris Open Air Cinema.
International films to be screening this year: French film Les fantômes d’Ismaël (Ismael’s Ghosts in English), Mathieu Amalric’s Barbara, a biopic of the mono-monikered French chanteuse will be screened at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
American directors Sofia Coppola (The Beguiled), Noah Baumbach (The Meyerowitz Stories), and Todd Haynes (Wonderstruck) will be seen competing with each other.
The line-up also includes films like Happy End, Loveless, The Day After and Isabelle Huppert-starrer Claire’s Camera.
