MUMBAI: The information and broadcasting ministry has sent a show cause notice to Colors channel after it felt that some of the content aired by it on popular reality show Bigg Boss 7 was not appropriate for unrestricted public exhibition.
Sources said the ministry had examined the contents of two episodes of the show after it received complaints.
“There had been concern about the language used by some contestants in a conversation that was aired on the reality show Bigg Boss 7. In one of the episodes of the show, a contestant is shown sitting on an electric chair and being given electric shocks,” an official source told PTI.
The ministry has issued a show cause notice and asked the channel to explain,” the source said.
