The dream run from Dhoom 3 is not yet over. After conquering Turkish Box Office and entering its list of Top Ten films, this Yash Raj Films pacy bonanza is all set to storm the China market. The film is going get the widest release ever for any Indian film in China.
Uday Chopra tweeted recently, “Dhoom 3, July 25, 2014, 2000 screens, 400 cities, 1 country…China!” Nothing can get as bigger than this in terms of release of a movie in China or any international territory for that matter. It had already raked in $10.17 million internationally when it opened last December. Domestic market too was abuzz with its stupendous collections and now it is eyeing a similar haul in China as well.
Dhoom series has always enjoyed a lot of patronage. With every film, not only the scale but the fan following also increased. And this time with Aamir Khan as the antagonist, audience seemed doubly happy. It is India’s first film to touch the 500 crore mark.
Many would argue high ticket rates aided it, but getting figures like that is no mean task. We hope it is liked by the China people too.
