Emraan Hashmi Busy Shooting For First International Film

Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi, who is debuting in his first International film with Oscar winning director Danis Tanovic, has completed a fortnight of shooting.

MUMBAI: Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi, who is debuting in his first International film with Oscar winning director Danis Tanovic, has completed a fortnight of shooting.

Danis Tanovic, who has been regularly tweeting updates about the film’s schedule, recently wrote, “Shooting, day 13. House…,” and posted an image of Emraan with the other cast members.

Bollywood’s ‘serial kisser’ as he is called, Emraan is determined to erase this nickname off by signing unconventional films. After a stellar performance in Dibakar Banerjee’s off beat ‘Shanghai’, Emraan is now working with Tanovic, the Bosnian director who tweeted, “Love Love Love Emraan”

“Anurag Kashyap saw `Shanghai` and he really liked my performance in it. He had met Danis in Europe about 7-8 months back. When Anurag came to know about Danis`s project, he suggested my name and told Danis that I would fit the role perfectly. Anurag sent me the script. Danis also liked my performance in `Shanghai` and we were on for the project,” said Emraan.

Currently, Hashmi is seen multitasking between his three films – ‘Ghanchakkar’, ‘Ungli’ and Danis Tanovic’s untitled film. He is also promoting Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ which is set to hit the screens on April 18, 2013.

Danis Tanovic is best known for his academy award winning ‘No Man’s Land’ that had defeated Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan’ at the Oscars in 2001. The director finished shooting in Mumbai a couple of days back and has now moved to Patiala, Punjab.

Emraan Hashmi met the Oscar winner director at the Berlin Film Festival, where Emraan attended the screening of Tanovic’s film ‘An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker’.
