Farhan Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan Come Face To Face In ‘Raees’

SRK-Farhan-Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar first directed Shah Rukh Khan in Don, and then in Don 2. Now, Farhan is set to act opposite the king of Bollywood. This all is going to happen in the film titled Raees. Farhan earlier shared a bit of screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Zoya Akhtar’s debut film Luck By Chance.

The new film in talks, Raees, is an action thriller, set in the rustic locations of Gujarat. Shah Rukh Khan essays the role of a bootlegger, while Farhan Akhtar is a police office in the film. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the film will bring Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar back in the same frame, after the impressive stint in Luck By Chance.

“Shooting for Raees will begin from mid next year. Shah Rukh will be playing a bootlegger and Farhan a policeman. It is an interesting story,” said a very excited Rahul Dholakia.

Rahul has roped in two Ahmedabad based journalists, Harit Mehta and Ashish Vashi, to write the story and screenplay of the film. It took the trio, Mehta, Vashi and Dholakia over two years to finish scripting. And now, it’s all set to roll.

Shah Rukh Khan is very excited once again to play a gray character, and is really looking forward to start working on Raees. Currently, Shah Rukh is busy shooting for his home production Happy New Year, and Farhan is gearing up to promote his film Shaadi Ke Side Effects, which is ready for release.

Produced by Excel Entertainment, Raees is slated to go on floor in mid-2014, and will hit the silver screens on Eid 2015.

If reports are to be believed, then Shah Rukh Khan may clash with Salman Khan in the year 2015. Shah Rukh’s Raees and Salman’s yet untitled Being Human production directed by Kabir Khan are expected to release on Eid 2015.

Here’s wishing Shah Rukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar and Salman Khan “a very happy Eid”!
