MUMBAI: Milkha Singh has achieved many things in his life, but he believes he has gained true happiness only now. When Milkha Singh watched ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, based on his life, he wept.
The Indian athlete watched the film at its premiere in London recently. “I saw the film in London three days back. I cried in the second half and it was Farhan who handed overh is handkerchief to me to wipe my tears,” Milkha Singh said, referring to Farhan Akhtar, who is playing Milkha Singh in the film.
Milkha Singh was accompanied by Farhan Akhtar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Sonam Kapoor and writer-lyricist Prasoon Joshi. Sonam Kapoor has played the role of Milkha Singh’s girlfriend in the film while Divya Dutta has played his sister.
Milkha Singh hoped that the film would inspire the younger generation. He ends by saying, “Today, I am a happy man.” His fans hope that the film ends up having a similar effect on others.
