Gabbar Is Back: Akshay Kumar Is The New Vigilante In Town To Fight Corruption

Akshay-Kumar-TwwetBollywood’s daredevil Akshay Kumar is back with yet another unique conceptual film. With his recent films, Akshay is moving away from the genre of comedy and opting for serious roles relating to social awareness. The Baby actor recently revealed that his upcoming film Gabbar Is Back would apparently be a film fighting against corruption.

Akshay Kumar recently took to his Twitter account to give his fans an idea about what his next film’s theme is. The actor tweeted, “If you hate corruption,spread the word #GabbarIsBack.Post this & show whose side u’re on! The new Vigilante is in Town.” Well seeing the beardy look that he is sporting for the film, we are sure he will be a badass vigilante who fights against the corruption that prevails in our nation.

The film was earlier named Gabbar, but the name was recently changed to Gabbar Is Back. The film will see Kareena Kapoor Khan doing a cameo and will see actress Shruti Haasan as well where the actress is singing an urban number in the film. The song, which is a modern, edgy and pop love number, will be picturized on Shruti herself.

Gabbar Is Back is an official remake of 2002 Tamil film Ramanaa. Directed by Krish, the film also features Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film was earlier scheduled to release in January, but due to some reasons, the film is postponed. Now most likely, it will hit theatres on May 1, 2015.
