The ‘Khan of Bollywood’ is a certain cricket fan and an even more dedicated cricket-team owner. Not only is he the biggest cheerleader for his team, but he also makes sure to be encouraging and supportive of them. Whenever SRK is not tied down with a previous commitment such as a shoot or an appearance, he is always spotted in the stadium, cheering his team on.
Yesterday, SRK’s team Kolkata Knight Riders played against Gujarat Lions at the home ground of the team, Eden Gardens. The Gujarat Lions team delivered an all-round classic effort and outperformed the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a substantial five wickets and 12 balls to spare in the Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, 8th May. This win put the Lions on the first position on the points table, a spot which was formerly held by SRK owned team, Kolkata Knight Riders.
While fans of the team were certainly dejected at their loss, especially on their home ground, they were definitely cheered by the prospect of having SRK amidst them. The celeb did not disappoint either and was very generous with his trademark flying kisses to spectators. However, the youngest member of the SRK clan, AbRam Khan was missing from Sunday’s event. The toddler and his interactions with his Superstar father have become a trending topic on Social Media and have spun a lot of material.
On the professional end of the spectrum, the 50-year old SRK has had a fabulous year with ‘Fan’ that performed well in theaters and was also at the receiving end of praise. Sadly, that is all we will be seeing of SRK in the near future as his much awaited film, ‘Raees’ has been slated to release next year.
