The Khiladi Kumar is currently enjoying the best phase of his career and he has given three consecutive hits in one single year- Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom. With the release of Rustom, Akki teased his fans by unveiling the first look of his 2017 Independence Day film Crack. If this was not enough, Akshay Kumar surprised his fans by locking 2018 Independence Day for his sports drama film GOLD. The film will be helmed by the Talaash director Reema Kagti and the film will show the story of India winning its first ever Olympic Gold medal as a free nation in 1948.
However, the sports based drama film will showcase Akshay Kumar playing the character of legendary hockey player Balbir Singh. The film will revolve around the inspirational life of the hockey player and the ups and downs faced by him in his life. Many are not aware about the fact that Balbir Singh was the man responsible to score three hat-trick goals against Argentina and two goals against Great Britain in the finals.
Akshay Kumar is very fond of playing real-life characters on the silver screen and the choice of films he has made in the recent years is excellent. Akshay Kumar shared the teaser poster of GOLD recently on twitter. The film will go on floors in 2017 and will be produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment.
Before that Akshay Kumar has many films lined up including Jolly LLB 2, Toilet-Ek Prem Katha, and Crack. Well, it seems that the Rustom star will create the same magic in 2017 which he created in 2016.
