A non-bailable warrant has been issued against former Bollywood actress and model, Mamta Kulkarni.
A warrant has been issued against Mamta Kulkarni and alleged international drug lord Vijaygiri aka Vicky Goswami by Thane sessions court in connection with the Rs 2,000 crore drug haul. The warrants were issued H M Patwardhan on Monday.
On April 13, 2016, the police arrested two people with around 18.5 tonne of Ephedrine worth INR 12 lakh and later busted a racket that was worth INR 2,000 crore at Avon Pharma Life Sciences Private Limited’s factory in Solapur. Till now, 14 people have been arrested in the case, while five accused are abroad, including Mamta Kulkarni.
As per the police, Ephedrine was being diverted from Avon to a Kenya-based drug cartel headed by Goswami along with Mamta where it was used to make party-drug Methamphetamine. Goswami and Mamta are allegedly married, but the former denied any such reports.

The investigators claimed to have got “clinching evidence” against them and based on which they want to file a chargesheet, but the duo are declared absconding since their names cropped up in the drug bust, said a senior police officer.
Special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray, in a marathon submission to the special court, sought the warrant, and informed the court that they have ample evidence against the duo and their involvement in the drug racket as a prime accused.
Goswami is in US custody. In January, Goswami, Ibrahim and Baktash Akasha as well as Gulam Hussein were extradited from Kenya to the US.
Mamta Kulkarni has been a part of several Bollywood movies including, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’, Karan Arjun’, ‘China Gate’ and ‘Baazi’.
