NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress and Anil Kapoor’s fashionista daughter, Sonam Kapoor is all for road safety. The lovely lass was spotted in the Capital city recently, in full support of the ‘Helmet Awareness’ campaign.
The initiative launched by Delhi’s traffic police is a campaign to create awareness among women to wear helmets in New Delhi. Sonam did her good deed for the day by coming out to support this endeavour.
With millions of women riders putting their lives at risk daily by not wearing helmets, it was high time a campaign was launched to promote best practices for safety on the roads. And Delhi being an extremely tough terrain to maneuver on road, what with road rage instances being reported frequently, it was about time an initiative like this was launched.
And what better way to convey a message than to rope in a role model for today’s youth: in the form of a popular actress like Sonam.
The beautifully stylish young icon was recently in the city, shooting for her upcoming film ‘Raanjhna’, and was roped in by the Delhi police to flag off the campaign.
The beautiful fashionista always surprises us with her eclectic and trend-setting sartorial choices. This time too, she pleasantly surprised us by donning a polka dotted black and white collared shirt, high- waisted black trousers and a bright yellow blazer for a pop of colour.
Perched atop a bike which said ‘Delhi police’, the lady completed her fashionable ensemble with a steel grey helmet; which is sure to become a style statement now that she’s chosen to wear it!
