Raj Thackeray Slams Salman Khan, Says We Will Ban Their Movies Too

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has now become part of the ongoing debate about banning Pakistani artists from India. At an event in Delhi, Salman Khan backed Pakistani artists saying that they are not terrorists and that they come to India with a proper work permit. Soon the actor was slammed by some of the political parties. His statement on the same invited backlash from Shiv Sena and MNS.

MNS Chief Raj Thackeray too lashed out at Salman Khan asking him if he will guard India’s border. At the press conference, Raj Thackeray spoke to a length on the ongoing war of words.

Raj said “Are we short of artists in our country? Why do we need Pakistani artistes to work in our films? I don’t understand. Jawans are fighting for us at borders. What’ll happen if they decide to put down their weapons? Who’ll guard borders? Salman Khan? These artistes should realise ‘Nation first’. If they have so much problem, we will ban their movies too”.

On Thursday, the Indian motion picture producers’ association (IMPPA) banned Pakistani actors and technicians from working in Bollywood. The association made it clear that actors who have already shot for the films, may not face any problem. The big decision was taken after political party, MNS demanded Pakistani actors to leave the country in 48 hours after the Uri terror attack. Actors including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar were asked to leave the country in the given time or they will be pushed out.
