Did you know Lata Mangeshkar was slow poisoned at the age of 33? Shocked? Well, sadly we have to tell you that it was a fact.
Novelist Padma Sachdeva had mentioned about this incident in her book titled Lata Mangeshkar: Aisa Kahan Se Lauen. Let us tell you how the whole incident happened.
According to what Lataji revealed to Sachdeva, this happened in 1962. One morning, Lataji experienced severe pain in her stomach and vomited green liquid many times.

She wasn’t able to move as it was paining real bad. Her doctor was summoned to examine her. He gave her an injection that lull her to sleep to ease the pain. For three days, she fought with death and post that, started to recover. The doctor then informed her that she was poisoned.
Although shewas recovering, she was extremely weak and couldn’t move due to pain in the intestine. She was on her bed for three months. During those days, Majrooh Sultanpuri used to visit her and read her poems. Apprently he also used to taste the food served to her before Lataji.
